Lecture:The Lutemakers of Füssen establishing their Guild 450 Jears ago.
On occasion of the 450th anniversary of the creation of the Guild of lutemakers of Füssen, Germany, Urs Langenbacher will talk about the great importance and the influence on European lutemaking. He will tell the story of these makers, emigrating from Germany to e.g. Italy and how they determined the history of the instrument in Europe.
Urs Langenbacher himself is also living in the town of Füssen, where he runs a workshop for the making and repair of plucked stringed instruments since 1992. He is regarded as a maker with profound historical knowledge and has won several awards in instrument making, among which the "German Music Instrument Award 2008"
